shenandoah national park (sort of)

this weekend been we headed to the shenandoah national park ( or at least near it ). later this night i discovered a pretty massive fuel leak from one of the carburetors in the kombi, so by rights it really should have blown up.

all 'round a pretty freakin dangerous weekend... i've yet to ask our herpetology experts what type of snake this was. i spotted it less than 10m from the van

this is "wolleyball".. volleyball in a racketball court (read "volleyball for idiots"!)

thanks tracey.. i have to hang my head in shame for doubting you.

southern maryland

i'm about a week behind here, but on this particular weekend we jumped into the kombi and headed south down the eastern edge of maryland. some find this beach great for digging for fossils, i found it great for sleeping..

a picturesque cemetary in St Marys, the first settlement in maryland

this photo is of a photoboard that displays this illustration of the area we were.. the southern tip of maryland

and an unexpected stop at a airforce museum (after a disappointing turnout from the local Amish to point and stare at) rounded off the weekend.
